Superscript Generator – ˢᵘᵖᵉʳˢᶜʳⁱᵖᵗ Tiny Text Copy & Paste

Superscript text is tiny raised lettering, like ˢᵘᵖᵉʳˢᶜʳⁱᵖᵗ, built from Unicode modifier letters and superscript digits instead of formatting. This superscript generator converts what you type into those small characters, so the raised look survives in a bio, caption or game name; a few letters have no true superscript and borrow a stand-in.

Which letters exist as superscript

Unicode never encoded a complete superscript alphabet. The tiny letters come mostly from Phonetic Extensions and Spacing Modifier Letters, where linguists needed them for sound notation, so coverage is patchy. Superscript is the smallest of our font guides styles, and the gaps matter more here than anywhere else.

GroupExists?What the generator uses
Lowercase a–z25 of 26q has no superscript; the generator borrows ᑫ (U+146B, Canadian Syllabics)
Capitals19 of 26C, F, S, X, Y and Z fall back to small letters (ᶜ ᶠ ˢ ˣ ʸ ᶻ); Q stays a plain capital
Digits 0–9All¹ ² ³ from Latin-1 (U+00B9, U+00B2, U+00B3); the rest from U+2070–U+2079
Signs+ − = ( )⁺ ⁻ ⁼ ⁽ ⁾ (U+207A–U+207E)

The generator also uses ᶦ (U+1DA6, a small capital I) for i, although a true superscript ⁱ (U+2071) exists; both look similar at this size. The guide to the Unicode blocks behind fancy text explains why phonetic blocks are well supported.

Where superscript is genuinely useful

Superscript digits are the most dependable part of the set: x², 10⁶ and footnote markers¹ display almost everywhere because they live in long-supported blocks. Letters are better for decoration, such as a tiny tag after a name, than for anything a reader must parse, since screen readers announce them as “modifier letter small s” and so on.

Where superscript text works: Discord, Instagram and CODM

Whether superscript text survives depends on the field, not on the generator. A username field usually accepts only plain letters, while a display name or bio accepts almost any Unicode character up to a length limit. The table below pairs each platform’s published rule with what it means for superscript text; the last column says honestly whether we have pasted it on a live account.

Platform and fieldPublished ruleWhat that means for superscript textLive paste test
Discord username2–32 characters; lowercase letters, numbers, underscore and period onlyRejected: superscript text uses characters outside that setRule from Discord’s help center; not pasted
Discord display name1–32 characters; special characters allowedAllowed by the rule; most superscript letters are one UTF-16 code unit eachNot yet tested on a live account
Instagram usernameLetters, numbers, periods and underscoresRejected: styled letters are not in that setNot yet tested on a live account
Instagram bio150 charactersAllowed by the rule; long lines may hit the limit sooner than plain textNot yet tested on a live account
Call of Duty: Mobile nameShort name field; published guides disagree on the exact limit (14–16 characters) and the game filters some symbolsMay be refused or shortened; the game decidesNot yet tested in game

Discord, Instagram and Call of Duty: Mobile are trademarks of their owners (Call of Duty is published by Activision); SoShareIT Fancy Text is an independent site with no connection to them.

Superscript FAQ

How do I type superscript on my phone?

Type the text in the box above and press Copy, then paste it where you need it. Phone keyboards rarely offer superscript letters, so copying is the simplest way.

Why is there no superscript q?

Unicode never encoded one. The generator substitutes ᑫ, a Canadian Syllabics character that looks like a small raised q.

Why are some superscript capitals lowercase?

There are no superscript forms of C, F, S, X, Y or Z, so the generator uses the small letters instead, and Q stays plain.

Is superscript the same as small text?

Not exactly. Superscript sits higher on the line; subscript sits lower. Both are tiny, but they come from different sets of characters.

For other looks, the SoShareIT Fancy Text generator turns the same words into bold, cursive, bubble or small caps in one tap.
